The Texas A&M College of Medicine - Scott & White Medical Center (Round Rock) Family Medicine Residency is a three-year program that is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

We offer an optional Lifestyle Medicine Residency Curriculum (LMRC) led by Vinita Magoon, DO. This elective is comprehensive, flexible, and resident involvement driven. Visit LMRC for more information.

Baylor Scott & White Health - Central Texas facilities operate under one electronic medical record (EMR) as a fully integrated system with all specialties under one umbrella. Baylor Scott & White focuses on population health, quality outcomes, patient experiences and huddles that emphasize the LEAN principles.

We accept six residents per year.

Lifestyle Medicine Residency Curriculum (LMRC)

This optional elective is a comprehensive, applicable and flexible curriculum designed for integrated implementation into medical residency programs. Driven by resident involvement the curriculum has included residents in every aspect of its creation. The curriculum has included residents to their peers, who become a local resource for lifestyle medicine information.

The educational component includes 40 hours of in-person didactic material along with 60 hours of asynchronous application with application actives designed to be presented and completed over a two-year period.

Application Requirements

We accept applicants with the following qualifications:

  • Graduates of medical schools in the United States and Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME)
  • Graduates of colleges of osteopathic medicine in the United States accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
  • Graduates of medical schools outside the United States who have completed a Fifth Pathway program provided by an LCME-accredited medical school
  • Graduates of medical schools outside the United States and Canada who have received a currently valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) or have a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a U.S. licensing jurisdiction. We do not sponsor H1 visas.

Applicants are required to pass USMLE Step II and Step II CSA, or equivalent, prior to beginning the program.

We take into consideration:

  • USMLE/COMLEX Passing scores
  • Graduation date less than three years from the date of application
  • If more than three years, significant clinical experience during that time, research experience or masters in public health/research/administration
