Peer Support

As our employees strive to live our core mission, sometimes the unexpected and inexplicable outcomes occur and the very individuals delivering care become the ones in need of support.

The Peer Support Team is here to support you and/or your staff through unanticipated events and difficult times that occur in the workplace with understanding, compassion and confidentiality.

Our Peer Support Counselors are nominated staff members, many who have experienced second victim/healthcare adversity, receive training in active listening and psychological first aid and are available to support their peers with complete confidentiality.

Physician Well-Being Portal

We know that being a resident physician brings about its own set of challenges, and one way we aim to support you is through our internal Clinical Provider Well-Being website. This page is specifically tailored to address the needs of BSWH physicians within the hospital setting.

On this site, our physicians are able to take assessments and learn more about their own mental health, watch lectures and review trainings on the soft skills needed in their role, learn about preventative measures to maintain a strong sense of well-being, and locate the resources they need when they are seeking help. A few of the more common topics that are reviewed include stress management, burn out prevention, communication strategies, and emotional intelligence.

Baylor Scott & White has a Meditation Line available for staff and patients in need of a few minutes of alone time, our new Meditation Line offers two- or five-minute recordings by a meditation expert. The call is toll-free.

Just taking a few minutes to "stop" can offer benefits, as meditation has been proven to help reduce stress, anxiety and depression.

If you need time to relax and re-energize, call 833-593-1588.
