Applicants may apply through Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) to electronically submit fellowship applications, letters of recommendations, dean’s letters, transcripts and other credentials directly from their medical school.
Deadline for applications is January. Interviews take place between October and January.
Application Requirements
These prerequisites are required:
- ERAS Application
- Passing USMLE/COMLEX scores
- Your medical school must be on the Texas Medical Board’s Substantial Equivalence List
- You must be eligible for a Physician-In-Training License in the state of Texas. Please see the Texas Medical Board for further information
In order to be considered for the program, applicants must submit the following materials:
- Medical school transcript
- USMLE scores (Step 1 results are mandatory; Step 2 results are desirable. Interviews and rankings may take place without a Step 2 score if that result is not available before the ranking deadline.)
- Minimum of three letters of recommendation
- Letter from the medical school dean
- Photograph

Medical Student Opportunities
Elective rotations are available to fourth-year medical students that are interested in pursuing a residency at Baylor University Medical Center. Interested allopathic or osteopathic students from accredited institutions may apply through the AAMC Visiting Student Learning Opportunities application service (VSLO).
Visiting electives may be offered in two or four week rotations from July through January. Students can begin viewing the courses and dates being offered, prerequisites, and institutional requirements at VSLO starting in March. Applications will be accepted starting April 1.
