We offer this as a two-week or four-week elective.
Mornings are spent in the reading room and conferences. Afternoons are spent on textbook self-study and online cases.
Students complete an entire textbook on the basic practicals needed for internship regarding chest X-rays, abdomen X-rays and some neuro/MSK imaging.
Students review 15 CORE online basic medical student-level cases with associated multiple discussion items. They also review 30 advanced radiologic diagnosis per month in the subspecialties of their choosing, which include imaging, pathophysiology and management with online ACR Case in Point.
We require students to prepare a three to five minute presentation on two recently published ACR Cases in Point cases at resident noon conference per month.
Attendings meet with the students per month with an attending to discuss reading. Students also have a resident contact with whom they can ask questions throughout the rotation about reading assignments and presentations.
